Al-Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, held a meeting with Yahya Abul-Fotouh, Vice President of the National Bank of Egypt, the bank’s specialized working group and Dr. Tariq Suleiman, Head of the Livestock and Poultry Sector at the Ministry of Agriculture, to discuss mechanisms and possible ways to finance for the implementation of modern irrigation systems, which have become a necessity to apply them throughout the country, especially for water-intensive crops to continue their cultivation, and for the beneficiaries of agricultural activities, especially projects of dairy collection centers that receive great attention of the political leadership. Where it was agreed to expedite the completion of the financing procedures and decide on its requests as soon as possible.
The meeting also dealt with boosting the financing of livestock, poultry and fisheries projects. The Minister of Agriculture affirmed that the ministry’s specialists will provide all technical support to the owners of these projects, in a way that guarantees continuity and sustainability and will contribute significantly to raising the standard of living of the beneficiaries.
